    This trek from Pargad to Hanumantgad combines a visit to two historic forts with trekking through beautiful landscapes and villages. This 3-day trek will begin with a visit to the Pargad Fort that houses a wonderful bronze statue of Shivaji Maharaj as well as a holy temple. From Pargad, you will trek through a dense forest and visit the villages of Bhekurli and Fukeri to reach Hanumantgad Fort. Explore the fascinating history of the region through the intricate interiors of these forts and spend your nights in the midst of rich wilderness of the Western Ghats.

    This is a relatively easy trek that is a perfect trek for beginners as well as experienced trekkers.


    Located in the midst of a serene environment, the Pargad Fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj as a defensive measure against the colonial Portuguese in Goa. Since then, the fort has seen a rich history of wars and battles. During your trek, you will hike in the dense forests of the Western Ghats and that will take you over narrow nature trails, river streams and ponds. Combining nature with culture, you will also explore the fascinating history of the region by exploring the archaeological forts of Pargad and Hanumantgad.

  • Day 1 of the Trek from Pargad to Hanumantgad: Drive to Pargad and trek to Bhekurli

    Meet the rest of your group at the Swargate bus stand by 00:30 hrs and leave for Pargad in a private non-AC bus. After reaching Pargad by early morning, dig into some breakfast and visit the Pargad Fort. Spend some time at the fort to explore its historic interiors. By 10:00 hrs, begin trekking towards Bhekurli. En route, take a break to rest and have lunch. You will reach Bhekurli by evening. Overnight at Bhekurli in tents or open air.

    Overnight in sleeping bags.

    Board a private, non-AC bus in Swargate, Pune at 00:30 hrs and travel to Pargad. Make sure to eat dinner before meeting the rest of the group at Swargate since no meals are provided during transit. Today's meal package includes breakfast at Pargad, lunch during the trek to Bhekurli and dinner at Bhekurli. You will be accommodated in tents or open air/caves/temples. Make sure to bring along a foam mattress or blanket and sleeping bag to ensure a comfortable night's sleep.
