    On this trek to Sagargad, you'll begin from the base village of Khandale, and make your way through farms and forests, as you climb up to an altitude of 1,358 feet. To make your way over the hills of Western Ghats, you'll tread on narrow trails, often flanked by grasslands and trees on both sides, especially during the monsoon. At the Sagargad hill fort, you'll visit the Siddheshwar Temple, and get sweeping views of the Alibaug area. Perfect for a quick, getaway in the midst of nature, this 6-hr trek to Sagargad is perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

    NOTE: This trip does not include lunch. You may bring a packed lunch to eat at the base village after completing the trek to Sagargad.

    Destination

    Located close to Alibaug, in the hills of the Sahyadri ranges, the Sagargad hill fort dates back to the 16th century. After centuries of history, not much remains of the fort, except for the Siddheshwar temple. A small river stream flows besides the temple and turns into a waterfall as it flows over the mountain cliff just behind the temple.

  • Trek to Sagargad: Mumbai to Khandale Village

    Arrive at the WEH metro station bus stop by 22;45 hrs and board your bus to the start point of the Sagargad trek, Khandale Village. You will stop at multiple pick up points during your overnight bus journey. You will reach Khandale the next morning by 03:30 hrs and embark on our thriling trek thereafter.

    Overnight in transit

    You will spend the night in the bus as you are driven down to Khandale village, which is the starting point of your trek. Make sure you carry a light blanket or a shawl to keep yourself comfortable through the night.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.
