• Trip introduction

    This 2 day trek from Manali to Solang Valley takes you through the scenic landscape of Himachal Pradesh on a fun adventure. You’ll trek through forests during the day, and camp in an alpine tent on a mountain meadow at night. After breakfast on Day 2, you'll end your trip in Solang Valley, and can choose to try out some of the activities like paragliding or rock-climbing, or go for a cable car ride (none of these are included).

    This is a short, easy adventure that is suitable for beginners or groups of friends looking for one night of camping.


    At an altitude of 8400 feet, Solang Valley is surrounded by mountains and rolling slopes, and is a popular stop for adventure seekers and tourists who are in Manali. In the winter, the slopes are perfect for skiing, tubing, and other snow activities. During the warmer months, the slopes are used for paragliding and zorbing.

    Solang Valley is about 14 kms from Manali, and your route will give you views of the Kullu Valley and the Beas river below. The trail takes you through pine forests and over rocky trails, and past the ancient villages of Shanag and Burua, where you'll get a glimpse of rural Himachali life.

  • Day 1 of the Solang Valley trek: Trek to Solang Valley

    Report at the base camp in Old Manali in the morning. After registration, you'll begin your trek towards the gorgeous Solang Valley. You'll stop to see the famous Manu Temple, and then make your way to the ancient villages of Shanag and Burua. It is a 13 kms trek and should take you about 4-5 hours to reach Solang Valley. Your campsite is set up here, and you'll be camping under the clear skies in the lap of the magnificent Himalayas. Overnight stay in tents.

    You'll start your trek from Old Manali in the morning and will have a packed lunch on the way. You'll reach Solang Valley in the evening and will settle into comfortable tents. You'll have a delicious meal for dinner and will retire for the night in cozy dome-style tents/fixed camps/homestays with comfortable sleeping bags and camping mattresses to keep you warm. Your campsite is also equipped with toilet tents.

  • Cancellation policy

    For any cancellations made 30 days or more before the departure of the Solang Valley trek: 70% of the total trip cost will be refunded, minus any transaction charges.

    For any cancellations made between 30-15 days before the departure of the Solang Valley trek: 50% of the total trip cost will be refunded, minus any transaction charges.

    For any cancellations made 0-15 days before the departure of the Solang Valley trek: No refund.

    You can choose to reschedule the same trip for another batch date, subject to availability. In such a case, 20% of the trek cost will be forfeited.

    Rules on trip

    Smoking cigarettes, consumption of drugs and alcohol is strictly prohibited during the Solang Valley trek.

    The instructor's decision is final and participants must adhere to the same on the Solang Valley trek.

    Participants must use and handle all the equipment provided to them with care.

    Littering during the Solang Valley trek is strictly prohibited.

    Trek departure timings are sacrosanct. The team will depart at the appointed time, regardless of late arrivals. There is no refund for those who miss the trek due to late arrival.

    Any meals/services not availed of by the traveller are not refundable.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The operator will not be held responsible for any injury, accident or death during the Solang Valley trek and does not provide any insurance for the same.

    There is a rescue and medical team available at the base for unforeseen emergencies.

    All participants are required to sign a disclaimer certificate at the base before the departure of the Solang Valley trek.

    Participants are responsible for the safety of their own belongings during the Solang Valley trek, and the operator shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
