  • Trip introduction

This offbeat trek is for those who are looking for an adventure on trails less travelled. You'll trek up through the gorgeous Pir Panjal range, through wide open meadows, under the shade of pine and oak forests, and up amidst the peaks, to one of the most beautiful sights you've ever seen: seven ethereal lakes set atop a mountain. The main ice-cold lake, Futta Saur, is where the sage Jamdaagni once meditated, and is a famous one, but the others are no less gorgeous. The sacred place is cherised by locals and sees very few tourists, so you're likely to have this place to yourselves.

    Destination

The trail begins in Haripur, 14 kms from Manali and leads on to Futta Saur which sits in the Pir Panjaal range of the Western Himalaya. You'll be exploring the green valleys of Himachal Pradesh during the day, and camping in meadows dotted with streams at night. The location of the seven lakes is rocky, so you'll be camping nearby, just above the tree line, with incredible views of the peaks around.
