• Trip introduction

The Dodhap monsoon trek is a beautiful journey that gives city dwellers a complete experience of adventure, spectacular natural beauty, brilliant views and a slice of history! Short but sweet, during this trek you’ll pass through rain soaked landscapes, thickets of forests and even climb over some rock cut steps that take you to a grand entrance gate. Made during the Peshwa Period, this hill-fort comes with a rich history – the remnants of which you’ll get to witness. From temples of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha, you’ll even witness ancient caves and a 5-meter-long tunnel!

Besides this, found a high altitude, the route to this fort is dotted with beautiful views. But once you reach the top – the true magic begins there. You’ll be able to see the Ikhara Peak, the Rawla-Jawla Fort and numerous other mountain ranges within the Western Ghats!

Not too strenuous and yet very enriching, this trip is ideal for nature lovers or enthusiasts who wish to escape the city for a day or so and truly imbibe the beauty of nature.

Located at an altitude of 4829 feet, the Dhodap hill-fort stands as the third highest hill-fort in Maharashtra. Situated within the Western Ghats, this fort lies 50 kms from Nashik, towards Dhule in the Chandwad Taluka. Surrounded by green carpeted hills and fragmented villages – the trek to this fort is tranquil, scenic and in some ways traditional. With only a few rocky mountain patches – this fort trek has become a popular destination for trekkers and hikers.
