The trail to Bhairavgad involves ascending through narrow, rock-cut stairs with a deep valley on one side. Some climbs are almost perpendicular and can only be accomplished by rappeling your way up. This trek to Bhairavgad summit starts from the Moroshi village in the wee hours and you will reach the base of the Bhairavgad fort early morning.
Please note that travellers should be experienced in rock climbing and should have done difficult treks before in order to book the Moroshi Bhairavgad trek.
Bhairavgad derives its name from a rock face structure called dyke. It is located in Malshej Ghat region of Maharashtra, at the elevation of 3,756 ft. The fort is considered to be 2500 years old and is in a completely dilapidated state today. There are two caves on the way to the summit, one of which is a shrine of Lord Bhairavnath while other is often used by trekkers and visitors as a shelter.
