    Destination

The base camp of Mt. Everest is the furthest that trekkers can reach without the use of mountaineering equipment. Located at an altitude of 17,600 feet, the base camp is surrounded by the snow and moraine of the Khumbu glacier. As you approach the base camp over a well-marked route in the Sagarmatha National Park, the terrain undergoes a dramatic change. From sprawling, vast forests and grasslands, the scenery changes to barren mountain slopes with giant rocks and boulders. On the trek, you'll visit the Everest Base Camp in the evening to catch the setting sun over the Himalayan landscape.
