Langtang Valley Trek

Explore the oak, maple and bamboo forests of the Langtang Valley and spend 6 days inside the protected, alpine jungles of the Langtang National Park. Beginning from the small village of Syabrubesi, follow the stone-paved path alongside the rivers of Bhote Koshi and Langtang. En route, you'll cross long, suspension bridges hanging over the gushing rivers. With spectacular views of tall Himalayan peaks like the Ganesh Himal or Kinshung, you'll also visit the Tsergo Ri glacier and walk over the massive expanse of ice and snow.

Another highlight of the Langtang Valley trek, you'll take a guided, heritage tour of Kathmandu and visit the cultural monuments and landmarks of the capital city.

Destination

With towering snow-capped mountains on either side, the Langtang Valley follows the turns of the Langtang River. The valley is settled by a number of small villages like Keynjing Gompa and Lama Hotel, where you can explore the traditional lifestyle of local shepherds and farmers. Trekking inside the Langtang National Park, your main attraction will be looking up to admire the snow-laden peaks like the Ganesh Himal, Yala Peak and the Langtang Lirung.

Land at the Tribhuvan International Airport. You'll board a private vehicle and travel to pre-arranged hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, you'll meet your trek leader for a short briefing session regarding the itinerary, weather and equipment for the trek. Leave the city lights of Kathmandu and travel to Syabrubesi, the start point of the Langtang Valley trek. Early in the morning, you'll be escorted to the Kathmandu bus station, where you'll board a bus for the scenic, 9-hr drive to Syabrubesi. During the journey, you'll catch amazing views of snow-capped peaks in the Langtang Valley region like the 24,350-ft high Ganesh Himal and travel across small villages like the Kakani or Jurethem. Trek over a stone-paved path beginning from the village of Syabrubesi and enter the Langtang National Park. Crossing multiple suspension bridges over the Bhote Koshi and Langtang Rivers, you'll make past terraced fields over relatively easy trail to Lama Hotel. For most of the journey, you'll be following a trail alongside the banks of the Langtang River. Overnight in a lodge at Lama Hotel.

Continue trekking alongside the roaring waters of the Langtang River. The trail to today's destination of Langtang will weave in and out of thick patches of oak, maple and bamboo forests of the national park. You'll continue gaining altitude over an increasingly uphill trail, but you can stop and rest at multiple waterfalls located along the way. Overnight in a lodge at Langtang.

Leaving the Tibetan village of Langtang behind, you'll trek across a trail of increasingly sparse greenery to Keynjing Gompa. En route, you'll pass a local Yak cheese factory and grab spectacular views of the 23,734-ft high Langtang Himal. Overnight in a lodge at Keynjing Gompa.

Begin retracing your steps over the same route and descend to Lama Hotel. Following the path speeding downhill alongside the Langtang River, you'll pass multiple small villages like Thyangyap, giving you insight into the unique lifestyle and culture of native Nepalese shepherds and farmers. Cancellation policy

For cancellations made more than 30 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: 80% refund.

For cancellations made on or less than 30 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: No refund.

In case of no show: no refund.

All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

Rules on trip

Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Langtang Valley.

Consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited during the trek. Consumption of tobacco products and cigarettes is not recommended.

Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

The tour operator reserves the right to change or cancel the itinerary of this trip due to bad weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff. Travellers are required to bear any additional costs arising due to such a change in itinerary.

The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life during the trek to Langtang Valley.
