Enjoy your weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city with this short and easy trek through the Binsar wildlife sanctuary. This 2-day trek takes you into the inner sanctuary via an off-beat route with waterfalls and river streams en route. With the chirping of alpine birds that live in the sanctuary, you'll reach the Binsar Zero Point, a vantage point to soak in views of snow-clad peaks like Mt. Nanda Devi and Mt. Trishul. A pleasant and easy hike, this Binsar trek is a great choice for beginner as well as seasoned trekkers.
The Binsar wildlife sanctuary, located in the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, is home to a range of alpine wildlife species from leopards and barking deers to the Himalayan black bears and the sambhars. A birder's paradise, you'll often spot unique and brightly-colored birds fluttering among treetops and chirping in the woods of the sanctuary. Here, you'll also find small, hillside villages tucked away in the secluded folds of the mountains. After a day spent exploring the sanctuary, you'll stay at one such quaint hamlet under a dark, night sky that is decorated with a hundred twinkling stars.

Report to the Kathgodam railway station at 7:00 hrs and board a private vehicle for the 5-hr drive to the Kholsir village, located on the northern edge of the Binsar wildlife sanctuary. Here, you'll have a short briefing session before you begin trekking from Kholsir. A 2-hr trek will take you on an off-beat trail to the secluded village of Sontri. Be sure to explore the small village and enjoy the starry sky in the evening. Overnight in a home-stay or tents at Sontri.

Travel from Kathgodam to Kholsir and trek from Kholsir to Sontri. Today's meal package includes lunch served at the Kholsir village before the trek and dinner at the Sontri village after the trek. Overnight stay will either be in alpine tents pitched in Sontri or at a local home-stay.
