The Kedartal Trek is a moderately difficult trek best suited for experienced trekkers. It is a pristine, unknown trek which takes you from Gangotri to Kedartal. This is one of the most rewarding treks in the Himalayas for its breathtaking views and the landscape that it takes you through. You follow the Bhagirathi river till Gangotri, and then Kedar Ganga to its source at Kedartal. On the trek, you also get to see the majestic views of the Bhrigupant peak, Jogin group of mountains, and the imposing Thalaysagar. You might even get a chance to bathe in the hot water springs of Gangnani.
Kedartal, also known as Shiva's Lake, is one of the highest lakes in Uttarakhand, it is nestled in the Himalayas at an altitude of 14,518 feet above sea level. It is at the base of the Thalaysagar Peak. On the trek, you will cross through dense fir and birch forests, and across the tree line. After that, the trek becomes strenuous and takes you over massive boulders and stones.

You will report to the pick-up point, from where you will be driven to Gangnani which is known for its hot water springs. It is a 190 kms drive which will take about 8 hrs. If time permits, you might even drive to Gangotri. Overnight in a guesthouse at Gangnani.
