The Milam Glacier is the largest glacier in the Kumaon, Uttarakhand, and stretches out for an incredible 28 kms. It's a spectacular sight when you finally reach it, but the rest of this trek is beautiful as well. The trail for Milam Glacier trek takes about ten days to traverse, and takes you up into the quiet upper reaches of the Kumaon Himalayas. You'll be climbing to an elevation of 12,000 feet, close to the mighty Nanda Devi mountain. This adventure gives you time to walk quietly through forests and mountain paths, enjoying the blissful solitude of the region, where you will not see many others, except your own group.
This entire trek leads you through the gorgeous landscapes of the Kumaon Himalayas. You'll pass dense forests of rhododendron, oak, pine and cedar. There are waterfalls dotting the trail, and sprawling alpine meadows to be explored. You'll also get spectacular views of the peaks of Nanda Devi, Hardeoli and Mt. Trishuli.
