    A trek to Triund is one of the most popular adventure activities in Himachal Pradesh due to its close proximity to McLeod Ganj and spectacular views of the Dhauladar mountain ranges. On this short 3-day itinerary, you'll trek further into the forests from Triund to visit the snow patches at Laka Got. Walking on top of a mountain ridge, you'll trek through dense forests and explore the moraine and snow at Laka glaceir. At night, you'll sleep in tents pitched at campsites with breathtaking views of a beautiful sunset over snow-capped peaks.

    Ideal for travellers looking for a Himalayan trek on a short itinerary, this trip will take you over relatively easy terrain, making it perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

    Destination

    A small mountain ridge in the foothills of the Dhauladar mountain ranges, Triund overlooks the picturesque Kangra Valley on one side and the towering Dhauladar mountains on the other. Placed at an elevation of 9,760 feet, Triund is also a great vantage point to catch spectacular views of snow-capped mountain peaks in Himachal Pradesh. Another highlight of the trek, you'll get closer to the Dhauladar mountains by trekking to the snowline at Laka Got. With patches of snow from the Laka gacier, Laka Got is swamped with snow during the months of winter and early summer, but melts away into flowing river streams by monsoon.

  • Day 1 of the snowline trek to Triund and Laka Got: McLeod Ganj to Triund

    Arrive at the McLeod Ganj campsite by 09:00 hrs. After a quick briefing session with the trek leader, you'll begin trekking towards Triund. En route, you'll make a pit stop to visit the Galu Devi Temple. Trekking through forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron trees, you'll arrive at Triund. The route to Triund begins with an initial steep ascent following by a gradual climb through dense forests. Once you reach the peaceful meadows of Triund, the gorgeous views and tranquil scenery will be highly rewarding after an exhilarating trek. Overnight at Triund in tents.

    Your trip begins as you arrive at the McLeod Ganj campsite by 09:00 hrs. Today's meal package includes lunch and dinner. Lunch will be a packed lunch served en route to Triund while dinner will be served at the Triund campsite. Please make sure to have breakfast before reporting to the start point in McLeod Ganj. You will be accommodated in dome tents on triple/quad-sharing basis. Sleeping bags and mats will be provided. The campsite is equipped with common kitchen/dining and toilet tents.

    For cancellations made less than 3 days prior to departure of the Laka Got, Triund trek: No refund.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the trek leader during the snowline trek to Triund and Laka Got.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the snowline trek to Triund and Laka Got to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.
