    Located in the heart of Kangra valley, the Triund trek is an easy but gorgeous adventure, so is one of the most sought after treks in this region. The trail passes through dense rhododendron and oak forests, and ends at the Triund summit, rewarding you with absolutely breathtaking 180-degree panoramic views of the nearby ranges, and the gorgeous Kangra valley. This trip itinerary gives you a relaxed day at the base camp in McLeodganj after the trek is over, so that you can extend your mountain visit.

    Baggage storage facilities are available at Base Camp, for no extra cost for trekkers.


    McLeodganj, the basecamp from where the trek starts, is unlike any other place in India. This small town is home to a local population as well as Tibetan refugees, which lends it a unique charm of its own, as well as some great food options! And of course, with McLeodganj being the home of the Dalai Lama, the monasteries here are also worth exploring. You'll trek through peaceful Himalayan forests, wake up to a misty morning, and get some great photo opportunities all along.

  • Day 1 of Triund trek: McLeodganj to Triund

    Arrive at the McLeodganj base camp by 10:00 hrs. You will start your trek to Triund via Dharamkot through mixed deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. The 9 kms trek route is an easy trek that can be covered in 4-5 hours. The summit at Triund offers 180-degree views of the Dhauladhar Himalayas, Pir Panjal ranges, Indrahar pass, and the entire Kangra valley. Overnight at Triund in tents.

    Your first night of camping for this Triund trek is at the Triund campsite itself. You'll be provided with tents on triple/quadruple sharing basis, as well as sleeping bags and sleeping mats. For your convenience, you'll have access to common dry pit toilet tents. Today's package includes lunch and dinner.

    For cancellations made 15 days or more before departure of the Triund trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made between less than 15 days before departure of the Triund trek: No refund.

    No show: No refund.

    No refunds will be issued to travellers that miss the departure or arrive late.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to be older than 15 years of age to book this trek to Triund.

    Travellers are requested to carry valid photo ID proof with them.

    Only those with valid and confirmed bookings are allowed to stay at the campsite.

    Trek departure timings are sacrosanct. The team will depart at the appointed time, regardless of late arrivals. There is no refund for those who miss the trek due to late arrival.

    Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Triund.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the trek to Triund.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to ensure maximum safety for travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.
