This 5 day trek to Valley of Flowers is the perfect introduction to the state of Uttarakhand. Starting off from the holy city of Haridwar, trekkers will drive along a scenic route with the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers for company along the way as you pass through Rudraprayag, Devprayag, Joshimath and other towns to reach Govindghat.
Your Valley of Flowers trek offers sweeping, panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayan mountain range, but the highlight is undoubtedly the Valley of Flowers. This is a moderate trek and is great for both, first timers as well as experienced trekkers, looking to visit the Valley of Flowers.

Located within the Nanda Devi National Park, the Valley of Flowers is a designated World Heritage Site that was discovered by accident as recently as 1931 by a team of British mountaineers. While it was hidden away for many years, the valley is now open for tourists between June to September. At an easily accessible altitude of 3,650 meters or 11,980 feet, it is a favourite amongst tourists, thanks to the gorgeous carpet of rare flowers that blooms here every year.
You'll be able to see over 300 species of wild flowers bloom here, including the elusive and rare Blue Poppy and Brahmakamal. Besides this, the valley is also home to animals such as the snow leopard and the Asiatic black bear amongst others.

You'll depart from Haridwar in a SUV and drive up to the base point of the trek at Govindghat, The drive, which covers a distance of 275 kms, takes about 9 to 10 hours. Though long, the drive is a scenic one as you pass through the holy towns of Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnprayag, Nandprayag, Gopeshwar and Joshimath. Overnight at Govindghat in hotel.

You'll spend the night at Hotel Nanda Devi or similar hotel in Govindghat. You'll be staying in deluxe rooms with attached washrooms on a triple/quad-sharing basis. No meals are included in today's meal package. However, you may visit any of the restaurants en route to Govindghat to have meals at an additional cost.
